LOVE POEM: Love is SAYING YES -- Even In The Hard Times

I LOVED YOU

long before I ever met you.

Long before I ever knew

the contours

of your face

Before I ever wrapped my arms

around your waist;

Before I ever Knew
what made you
laugh or cry,
scared or feel alone.

I loved you long before I said
YES!

YES
to your kisses
and comforting embrace
YES
to snuggling with you
and making love with you
YES
to spending the rest of my life
with you.
But what I am discovering lately
is this:
The funny thing about love
is that you have to
keep saying
YES.

YES
to trash night
and cleaning the bathroom.
YES
to sharing a bank account
and a mortgage.

YES
to long labors
and sleepless nights
YES
to unexpected losses
and missed opportunities
YES
to being vulnerable
and choosing to join each other
when we'd rather jump ship.
We have to say yes --
to all of it --
the happy and ecstatic moments
as well as the sad and mournful moments
We have to keep saying yes
year after year --
and sometimes
minute by minute!
We have to choose to say yes,
this moment,
this breath.
So on the day I stand
in front of family and friends,
I'll say yes to you --
in that moment,
with that breath,
and all the breaths
I am to have.

THESE ARMS OF MINE: a poem by Rochelle Renee

These arms of mine

are empty, so empty

since the day you left

This heart of mine

it echoes a pain so deep

The angels even weep

So please come back soon

and fill this space

I need your loving embrace

to warm

These arms of mine

BLUE MOON: a Love Poem

 Blue Moon

In midnight fields/ we frolic and smile/ Once in a blue moon/ a love like this comes along/ Silvery and full/ Bathing the night meadows with a radiance/ Hand in hand/ You guide me/ illuminate me/ head to toe/ I'm surrounded by the glory/ of these wings in flight/ we're two doves soaring/ peaceful/ amid the still night/ crickets and hush/ kisses and whispers/ careful now/ don't wake the sleeping fools/ who do not feel and do not believe/ in Twin Flame love or miracles waking/ so lucky we are/ like hand in glove/ we fit so right/ you fade into me and I into you/breathless, reckless/ the fresh cut grass is jealous/ as we roll together/ passion, abandon, mirth/ the Blue Moon and love's spell/ our aphrodisiac. <3

MY BELOVED ~ a poem ~ by Rochelle Renee

 ~My Beloved~

Helpless, utterly helpless

Is how I feel

scared

vulnerable

like a little girl

wanting her blanket and teddy

Stripped bare of all my defenses

and armor

that I'd taken to battle

before you arrived

Standing here

in your presence

without an excuse

or anything to hide behind

I am forced

to look in the mirror

and see who I am

and it terrifies me

all my life

I was made to be the strong one

the oldest girl, the tough one,

fight the good fight, they said

and it will all work out for you

well, I'm tired and spent

exhausted

drained

from fighting the good fight

I'm tattered and worn

needing the comfort

and reassurance

of your loving hand

My Beloved

if I'd only known

how painful and real

and raw

this was going to be

I don't know if I'd have chosen you

But in the choosing, I had no choice

for you were hand-delivered

assigned, embedded, and designated

through our DNA codes

and soul contracts

So I sit here

in awe

in fear

and wonder

over you

and hope

this is not

all in vain

My Beloved.

KINDRED ~ a poem ~ by Rochelle Renee

 Dear Readers,

Sharing a poem with you that I wrote this past week. Hope you enjoy and feel all the massive love, as we enter this blessed Valentine's realm for 2022.

RR xo

KINDRED~~

Strange,

How worlds collide

yet somehow we blend

we merge

like two lost lonely souls

who have been wandering

for decades

Eerie,

how we look for perfection

yet what we NEED is right before our eyes

we speak to each other's hearts

and flirt with fate

and then we take for granted

the hours, the minutes,

the milliseconds,

that we could be making love

and counting stars.

Funny,

how we think we're experts

on what works in the grand scheme

of the universe

when all along, three years wasted,

we were KINDRED -- soulmates -- twin souls

all this time

right under our nose

the most magnificent miracle

we could ever imagine

we are flawed, impeccable, ancient

KINDRED

that is what we are

and I want to kiss your scars, bless your failings,

and fall at your feet

just so you can see the beauty

that is you

and only you.

LET THERE BE LOVE

Let there be falling leaves
from well-worn trees,
towering oaks,
and silver birch,
etched in time
with lines to tell
what they've been through

Autumn's bounty of
crimson, tangerine, gold
Falling, trickling,
Cascading
to the earth like
dreams and stories
we've carried so long
in hearts brimming with
hope & promise

Let there be September and October nights of
smoky skies
and diamonds in our eyes
as we watch the world slumbering
and we sit hand in hand,
under the blanket of love
sharing, loving & caressing
Just two souls
who've found one another
in the lottery of the cosmic path

We are lucky,
oh so lucky
to be here at this moment
Two flames amid
7 billion

I wanna get lost in your aquamarine eyes
and just forget the world
savor every minute of you
like the whip creme on my lips
and the hint of pumpkin spice on my tongue
from the steamed milk latte
you served me today

Let there be September skies of baby blue
with sunlight pouring through
and evening skies of sapphire
when the firewood burns
in old homes across town
while we share a moonlit stroll
murmuring secrets
only we can know

Let there be joy in our hearts
to whisk away the fear
let there be kindness
to chase away the gloom and doom
of this cruel world
let there be laughter
bubbling over from
our happy, kindred hearts

But most of all,
let there be Love.

SUBMITTED!!!

This author is smiling for a few reasons...

1. It's St. Patty's Day (Kiss Me, I AM Irish!!)

2. I JUST submitted THE CHRISTMAS KEYS (my latest novel) to a reputable publisher...tonight! at 11:00 p.m. SO AMPED!!! Fingers crossed :)

3. I'm IN LOVE...with my hero....DEREK KEYS. He's "all that" and more!! If he walked off the pages of this book, I would MARRY him in 2 seconds flat XOXO

After much laboring, editing, polishing, scrutinizing, sweating, nail-biting and many cups of coffee...

THE BOOK is finally complete!!! What began as a small seed of an idea in early November 2017...has grown to a 63,000 word novel that makes me grin so huge :)

I want to take a moment and thank THE VERY SPECIAL MAN who inspired my beautiful love story. It has changed my whole outlook on life, and you inspire me daily...to be a better woman, a more dedicated writer, a stand-up kinda gal, a brave warrior, a courageous heart and a fighter.

What I love about you is EVERYTHING. Keep being that solid guy, that champion for human rights, the man who petitions for the homeless of Oshawa, the one who wins awards for Accessibility so that disabled people can find normalcy in their lives, and above all....your BRAVE HEART...for showing up so AUTHENTIC in this life...after losing your precious little girl at age 7.

I commend you so much!!! D.G.!!!! You rock!!!!

See you soon XO

Love and thanks,

RR xo
